Chapter 1: "On the Edge of Jersey"
The air felt thick as the last train out of Jersey screeched along the rusted tracks. The car rattled under the weight of tension, and all eyes were on Shake, leader of the Rebellion gang. Shake leaned against the worn-out metal, his dark eyes focused ahead, the city lights in the distance barely visible through the train windows. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and always thinking a few steps ahead—necessary when you're a gang leader in a world where one wrong move could be your last. Next to him stood Shifty, his right-hand man. Quick on his feet, always ready with a plan, Shifty had earned his nickname because he could escape any situation, whether with his fists or his feet. His eyes darted across the car, watching everyone’s movements like a hawk. Then there were the twins: Rouge, the bronze rose, with her piercing gaze and steady hand. Her presence was deadly, even when she didn’t speak. She was always calculating, always analyzing, just like her sister. Beside her, her twin, quiet but fierce, kept watch. They were a tight unit, unbreakable. In the corner, near the sliding doors, sat Gouh, the artist. A different kind of warrior. While others fought with fists and chains, Gouh fought with colors, painting the streets with murals and tagging his crew’s symbols everywhere they went. His quiet demeanor masked a mind that saw the city in ways no one else could. As the train roared through the night, the gang was ready for one thing—the big meeting. Word had spread like wildfire that Cyrus, the most powerful gang leader in New York, had called for all the gangs to gather. Shake didn’t hesitate when he heard the news. This was their chance to make Rebellion known across the city. “We’re close now," Shifty muttered under his breath, his voice low but filled with anticipation. Shake didn’t respond. His focus was sharp. But the closer they got to the city, the more uneasy he felt. Something was off. He could feel it in his bones, like a storm was coming. The train screeched to a halt, the doors sliding open with a mechanical hiss. The gang stepped out onto the platform, immediately hit with the pulse of the city—fast, dangerous, and electric. They were in unfamiliar territory, but they weren’t afraid. This was the night they would prove who they were. Rouge stepped ahead, her eyes scanning the dimly lit streets. “This place smells like trouble,” she muttered. “Good,” Shifty grinned. “Means we’re right where we belong.” As they moved deeper into the city, they started to hear whispers, fragments of conversations slipping through the alleyways. Cyrus. Shot. Dead. The Warriors. The rumor was everywhere, spreading like wildfire, growing louder with every step they took.Gouh stopped in his tracks, his face pale. “You hear that?”Shake’s fists clenched at his sides.Cyrus was dead. The meeting was chaos. And now everyone was saying the Warriors were to blame. The plan was simple: find the Warriors, make them pay. “We find them,” Shake said, his voice steady but filled with cold determination. “No one takes out Cyrus and walks away clean.”Shifty nodded, cracking his knuckles. “Guess we got ourselves a new mission.”The gang moved like shadows, navigating through the twisted maze of streets, avoiding cops and rival crews, their senses on high alert. With every turn, the tension grew. Rival gangs were everywhere, some looking for revenge, others just looking for a fight. The Rebellion had to move smart, stay sharp. As they ducked into another alley, Rouge’s twin sister finally spoke, her voice low and calm. “We’ll find them. The Warriors won’t slip past us.”The night was far from over. And the hunt had just begun.
